Since 1994, Deer Run Hay Company has been growing & offering premium hay/straw to the local community. We started out on a 63 acre horse farm in Freehold, NJ and grew horse quality hay. In 2006, the business purchased a 161 acre preserved farm in Flemington, NJ. Deer Run Hay Co. also farms local properties in Somerset County and Hunterdon County.
Over the years, we have focused on bringing more efficiencies & automation into our hay operation while using sustainable farm practices. We strive to diversify our products into every type of hay market, such as mushrooms farms, storm water management, environmental remediation, and weddings/parties. Focusing on Hay, Straw, Baleage, & Mulch Hay has allowed us to supply the community with top quality products that are farm fresh and sun-dried. In 2022, we started raising miniature Highland & HighPark cattle on the farm as well. It’s been such an exciting opportunity as we care for our animals with our own hay & straw.
